Spacecase Records, SCR028
While I have remained pretty solid in my home and work life, the last few years have been completely unstable for me as a musician.
I have home-recorded multiple songs multiple times only to delete them completely.
I have compulsively bought and sold instruments and amplifiers looking for a certain sound that at times seemed unattainable.
I have started entirely new projects, hardly telling a soul, releasing music digitally and then deleting the project in under a month or even under a week at times.
So, I went into the studio with a group of talented individuals, thus forming a project that other people are invested in. I can’t just delete the songs or the project. Sometimes accountability to others is the most stabilizing influence.
I committed to releasing these songs in some physical format, thereby cementing its existence. It’s incredible how disposable music is when you only release it digitally and then your perfectionism deems the music as not good enough. That’s why sometimes one needs to get physical copies out into the world that you can’t get back.
Therefore, this album is named after a rather strange few years where nothing was good enough for me until I found a way out of the trappings of perfectionism with some help along the way.
One last note, it was recorded entirely live in the studio with no overdubs. And I finally found my guitar sound: Fender Mustang / Roland JC. Hope you like the album.
